The toilet has overflowed.

I am at Grace's apartment for the weekend, and it's been pretty fun. We watched kiss kiss, bang bang, we're going to go to noodles and company for some dinner, and the toilet has just overflowed. It's true. I won't explain to you the details as to why her toilet was plugged in the first place, but it happened. And that sucks. That's I guess all I had to say at this point in time, so I will catch you guys later.

Sunday afternoons usually warrant naps.

Today has been going pretty good. Grace came up to visit from Chicago, so last night we went to see "Be Kind, Rewind", which turned out to be a funny movie. When it first started, I was a little skeptical, but once it got going and all the movies got "sweded" it was decent. I just might get it when it comes out on dvd. Maybe not. Anyway, I’ve been working a lot lately, and yesterday I got suckered into a 9-5 shift at starbucks, which was not too bad. I need money in general, so I wasn’t against the idea. I ended up painting kids faces for a while when I worked, since we were having a tent sale. All of our espresso machines were 20% off, so we had activities for kids to do while their parents wasted their money. I got to paint some butterflies, baseballs, hearts, and flowers on cheeks. It was pretty great, because even though the pictures were really basic, and some were bad (the paint set was really low quality) the kids were impressed. Want to feel really cool? Hang out with a bunch of 6 year olds and draw a picture, or something like that. They’ll freak. Anyway, today I slept in until 11, which felt great. I haven’t had a day when I could just sleep late, and being able to do so was just what I needed. Right now I’m typing on my 24 inch iMac that I just got, and Grace is taking a nap. Youth group tonight, followed by some hanging out. It should be nice.

Skateboarding season is almost here.

I just wrote a blog last weekend about hating the snow, and now I find myself enjoying 51 degree weather. What the heck? I went to Northbrook skatepark yesterday with Adam and Jake, and we brought a shovel along. We cleared a bunch of it out, and hopefully by this weekend it will be completely melted. I'm so pumped.

It’s safe to say I’m sick of snow.

So, here I am. I'm just hanging out in Grace's apartment, waiting for my turn to take a shower. I'm sitting next to the big window in their living room, or whatever the equivalent of a living room is in this tiny apartment, and it's snowing. This really depresses me. I told Grace last night that if someone wanted me to feel like dying, they would create a machine that would transport me back into December, after living through the whole winter. That would kill me. If I had to live through three more months of this weather, I don't know what I would do. So please, spring, head my way if you can. That would be really nice. If there's any one thing that I am looking forward to over all else, it is summer. Brian, Matt and I are getting back together to play music this summer, and I am really looking forward to it. I am hoping to get a job working at a small business in small town Wisconsin, and spend my days riding my bike to work, being with the people that I love, and enjoying a summer away from Chicago. The city is bringing me down, and I don't even live in it.

I'm terrified of running scared.

Two nights ago I happened to have the best luck in the world. Well, not exactly the BEST of luck. I have been holed up in my dorm room this whole spring break, and I wanted to go do something. So, I decided to go see "No Country for Old Men" at a nearby theatre. However, when I arrived there, the theatre had closed for no apparent reason. I was kind of pissed, but decided to make the best of it. So, I went to blockbuster, determined to make this particular Wednesday night a "let's watch a movie and eat a bunch of crap" night. I got in and saw a table with the greatest deal ever. 4 movies for 20 bucks. To own. I was delighted, and immediately set upon finding 4 movies that I would like to buy. I found three right away: The Exorcism of Emily Rose (pretty solid), Hot Fuzz, and Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. These three movies, without a doubt, were worthy of being a part of my incredibly awesome movie library. However, it was difficult for me to find a fourth movie. So, I decided to get "Running Scared", which is an action flick that "makes kill bill look like sesame street" (actual quote from cover, mind you). So, I got these movies, bought some Wendy's, and watched Hot Fuzz. Great. Terrific. It was awesome. So, last night a few friends and I watched Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, and that was also terrific. However, today I decided to put in Running Scared. This movie is completely awful, and I am actually going to go so far as to say that if you have a soul, you will be disturbed by this film. Nay, Horrified. Perhaps so horrified that you will loath the fact that you are a human being. In the first five minutes of it, I watched a guy get hit achilles tendon hacked, another cop get his sack blown off, and another guy get aced in the temple with a shotgun. This movie has it all, folks. Child pornographers and kidnappers, strippers, pimps, prostitutes, thugs, mafia, crooked cops, drugs, gore, violence, full frontal nudity, and on and on. I couldn't even make it through the entire movie. I still feel crappy. Don't see this movie. On a lighter note, I got my new drum sticks and a new snare head in the mail today, which sounds great. I have been playing drums for a bit, it's been nice. I also have been listening to some underoath, since it's been a long while since that happened. So yeah, that's been my day so far. Really crappy in general, but I think that it's nothing a little legend of Zelda can't fix...
